Mr. Yul Kwon is an extremely accomplished individual. His role in improving COVID-19 exposure notification by developing contact tracing tools for smartphone users deserves special recognition. One of the most significant public health challenges to control COVID-19 in the US is the lack of comprehensive contract tracing. Mr. Kwon is leading product development at Google for cell phones to securely and privately track each other. A phone user will be notified if they have been recently exposed to an individual who became positive for COVID-19. This enables public health systems worldwide to inform better those who may have been exposed to COVID-19 and prevent further outbreaks.
